Boudoir Collections
Collection 1: Currently curating
Untitled (Grandassa models, Rockland Palace, Harlem), 1968 c. photograph by Kwame Brathwaite
In honor of Black History Month, this first collection is inspired by the Grandassa model group of the 1960’s and the “Black is Beautiful” movement. Black beauty is hardly a new concept- this collection will be curated as an ongoing reminder. This collection is for all across the gender and disability spectrum, but prioritizing Black femme and queer voices.
How collections work:
simple, they all have a theme. It's up to you to decide where you fit within that theme, and I will guide you through intimate posing as needed.
*Regular boudoir sessions are still available to all non-Black clients throughout February; please select “traditional boudoir” upon booking
Some rules and boundaries:
1. Nudity is never required. I strive to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for all clients. If at any point you feel uncertain or not ready to commit to a state of undress, get dressed! This can always be a simple portrait session instead.
2. Each collection will consist of a theme that is open to the client's interpretation. If you do not resonate with the theme and want to do your own thing, that's fine! Select “traditional boudoir session” in your booking, and we can create a session tailored to you.
3. Anonymity. Ultimately, these photos are for you to enjoy. You can share them with the world or appreciate them in private. If booking a session to be featured in a collection, I will leave it entirely up to the client what images are shared (such as images that do not show faces or identifiable marks/tattoos).
4. Affirmations are important. I do not allow for any body negativity in my sessions- ever. You're gonna love yourself as is or else. It's ok to be conscious about something, but we're not going to speak badly about our beautiful bodies, ok? We appreciate our bodies at every stage, and if not, then allow these sessions to push you towards loving yourself that much more.
5. Boudoir is for everyone, and everyone will engage with these sessions for different reasons. If you are not sure if this type of session is right for you, book a 10min consultation. Let’s figure it out together.
6. If you want to take beautiful photos as a gift for your partner(s), go for it, but don't center your photoshoot entirely around them. Even for couples/polycule sessions, we admire one another, and we do not pressure one another. All couples/polycule sessions are limited to 2-5 per group. All participants must sign a photo agreement consenting to the session.
